Brighten the lives of Slum Children

Do the children who collect garbage from roads have the feeling of a happy childhood? How can they understand the importance of literacy and entertainment in life which is full of dirt and hardships? Shri Pujit Rupani Trust firmly believes that they are delicate flowers of this garden called life. The trust has made more than 430 children self-reliant and has made sensitive efforts to brighten up their future.

  • The trust has adopted 430 rag picker children between 6 to 14 years of age and provided them with necessary education and joy into their lives.
  • Children, whose parents are out for a whole day for labour work are admitted to the Trust’s Street Children Center to keep the children away from the antisocial elements.
  • All the children enrolled under the project are getting basic literacy knowledge as well as basic mathematical and linguistic knowledge.
  • Inner art, skills and interests of the children are brought out and demonstrated through the celebration of various national, religious, social and cultural festivals.
  • 6 centers are working in the slum areas of Mayurnagar, Lohanagar, Indiranagar, Raiyadhar, Morbi road and SaatHanumaan to provide nutritious food along with knowledge to the children.
  • Establishing connect between families of the children and the scrap traders and making arrangements to sell the debris and garbage collected by them.
  • Under this project, the beneficiary children are provided nutritious food.
  • Evaluating the exam results of the children and giving guidance for their improvement through periodic parents meeting.
